 Low Oxygen Disorders Generally

The single most basic cause of all disorders is the action of free radicals in the body. They are the sole original cause of all cancer and heart disease.  There is no conceivable drug which can neutralize free radicals, but in fact most drugs CAUSE free radicals in the body.

Free radicals, however, are also an important part of normal body function.  We hear about the famous "white blood cells" which kill or eat up the bad bugs.  What is not usually understood is that these white blood cells actually kill the bad bugs using free radicals which they "inject" into the bad bug.

I'm giving you a lot in a hurry here, but free radicals also exist in various forms, such as a "free radical form of oxygen."

When you hear about "antioxidants," you might think, rightly, that these (such as Vitamin C) are substances which are "against oxygen." That is only partly true. The more complete truth is that Vitamin C neutralizes the free radical forms of oxygen, and does not affect the "good" forms of Oxygen.

Oxygen Free Radicals, in fact, are about the most common type of free radicals we have in our bodies.  They are an essential part of the body's defense against the bad bugs, but they are also one of the major causes of all disorders.

These facts are generally known by the professional medical experts, but they hardly every talk about them, or write about them, for the lay public.  Why? Because, again, no drug is going to control these oxygen free radicals.

In fact, radiation used for cancer shoots beams of "electrons" into the body -- actually a "beam of free radicals" that create even more free radicals in a chain reaction.  Many of the things that are "hit" by these beams of radioactivity are actually atoms of oxygen -- and when the beam hits them they turn into a "free radical form of oxygen."

This is why the person who has cancer is severely warned to NOT take Vitamin C when they are going to get radiation treatment for the cancer.  Why?  Because the Vitamin C would tend to neutralize the effect caused by the radiation.  Radiation used to treat cancer IS SUPPOSED TO create lots of free radicals in the body -- to kill the cancer.  It works, of course, since free radicals can kill anything.

The hope then is that after the damage has been done to the cancer (and also to the immune system and other healthy parts of the body) that the cancer will cease to be a threat and the body can haul itself back to health.

So free radicals can be killers, good or bad, but you need to know just how powerful they are.

They work through "surrogates!"  A free radical can turn a useful atom of oxygen into a "free radical form" of oxygen. That oxygen, then, is used in millions of ways and places in the body.  Every cell in the body needs oxygen to function.  I'll go into that more in other places, but the truth is that oxygen is the single most important substance needed by the body to sustain life.

When that vital oxygen is turned into "killer oxygen" by free radicals, and the cells suck in what they think is healthy oxygen to work with, those cells are often betrayed, and themselves become sick and diseased.  Is it the low oxygen that is causing this problem?  Not really.  It is the low amount of good oxygen and excessive amount of "free radical forms of oxygen" that cause the problem.

So, "low oxygen maladies" should be understood to mean "maladies caused by free radical forms of oxygen."

Free radicals can be harmful to the body even when they are not associated with oxygen also.  That's another story for another day.

So, if you want to understand "disease" look to understand "oxygen" and what the term "low oxygen" really means.  Look to see how good oxygen in the body can be converted into bad oxygen -- the "free radical form" of oxygen.

If you can flood the cells with good oxygen, the cells will prosper.

That is the excitement of this web site -- recognizing that virtually all disorders have something to do with free radicals and oxygen, and that therapies which put super-rich oxygen, not free radical forms of oxygen, into the body can be very beneficial.

There are many other health problems not covered by this essay on oxygen, but heart disease and cancer, together, account for about 80% of all death -- both of them are caused by free radicals and low oxygen.

A great majority of the world's health problems could be reduced if this were better understood and accepted in the medical community.  Unfortunately, medical schools, medical research and most medical practice is driven by drug companies.  They have powerful and interesting drugs, but drugs are nothing more than poisons, adding a free radical burden to the body.  Drugs often are skillfully designed to "STOP" just certain functions of the body, or kill just certain parts of the body.  But, drugs can never remove free radicals and they do not "reverse" the "free radical forms of oxygen" into good oxygen.

Vitamin C can do that conversion; so does Vitamin E, Selenium, and several other items. 

But, once a cancer, for instance, has gotten started, it no longer depends on free radicals to keep it growing.
