Introduction

The Myco2 carbon dioxide monitor is a high performance infra red gas sensor designed for the environmental monitoring of carbon dioxide, particularly in horticultural applications such as mushroom farming.

The unit uses a special non dispersive dual wavelength infra red sensor unit which has no moving parts. This ensures the long term stability of the instrument. The sensor is highly gas specific and insensitive to other gases and water vapor. The gas enters the sensor by a combination of diffusion and convection within the sensor head. This method is silent reliable and provides a fast response.

( Convection is used to circulate the gas between the sensor head and the diffusion cell - gas exchange occurs by diffusion at the surface of a diffusion membrane.

The gas in the cell circulates within a closed system so that the optics are protected from the ingress of dust and pollutants. No additional filtering or pumping of the gas is required.

The instrument is enclosed inside a tough plastic enclosure rated IP65 against the ingress of water and dust further increasing its long term reliability. Alarm levels are set on an internal dipswitch. )
